Santiago de Aller could be close to returning to competition after several years of inactivity. Next Thursday, at 7:45 p.m., a regular meeting of members and supporters will be held at the Moreda Cultural Center with a single item on the agenda: the club's future. At this meeting, information will be provided on the feasibility of returning to competition thanks to the investment of a company linked to the world of soccer based in Oviedo and the United States.

"The historic club played in the Third Division and the Copa del Rey during the club's glorious era, and has always supported women's futsal. Now, it wants to support soccer again in the municipality," comments Guillermo Agustiño, the club's current president. He explained that the club stopped competing due to a lack of financial support and people willing to take over management. "Currently, I'm alone in the club, and maintaining the activity was unviable," he noted. However, the emergence of this company, whose name will not be made public until the agreement with the partners is formalized, opens the door to hope.

The project includes the return of the senior team to regional football competition, as well as the revival of futsal. Furthermore, one of the main objectives is to promote football in the municipality, allowing players from the lower divisions to continue playing at Santiago de Aller without having to leave for other clubs.

Another key point of the agreement is the improvement of the facilities, with the intention of optimizing the Federico Mulas natural grass field and ensuring its exclusive use for football. "This company is only interested in promoting football and relaunching Santiago de Aller, respecting the club's history and giving it a solid future," stated Agustiño.

Thursday's meeting will serve to address members' concerns and clarify the details of the agreement. "The members who have attended previous meetings have welcomed the idea, and now is the time to finalize the details regarding the club's future management," concluded the president.
